Background
Demetre was born at the port city of Piraeus near the glorious ancient Greek City of Athens.

He was raised in the Athenian suburb city of Moschato, named after the "Muscat" grape type, which grew in the area. Moschato is a historical small and friendly city with shallow houses, many green places, beautiful squares and pedestrian streets, famous for its social and athletic events. The Acropolis and the famous Parthenon were visible from his house.

At seven years old his parents and two younger brothers moved to Canada. From a young age, Demetre showed a love for art and design, contributing to his school yearbooks and sometimes giving paintings and sketches to family and friends as birthday gifts or going away presents. In grade seven, Demetre was honoured with the top student Art Award for his contribution to the school.

This love for art and expression combined with the need to help others, led him into the Architectural field. This was first realized at the age of seventeen, when he worked in construction one summer in Greece with his uncle Michalis who was a Master Marble Craftsman. For two months, he travelled and assisted his uncle, going to various construction sites all around Athens from private residences to apartment buildings to commercial properties. This was the first time he realized that this was his calling. He observed how his uncle used his hands and skill to create beautiful and intricate designs with marble. His uncle Michalis joked that in order to become a Designer you first have to learn to mix mud. The rest, they say, is history.
